Profile
A community Dance school for all!
We are a small, encouraging dance school offering classes for children and young adults in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Linedancing, as well as Dancing Hands for pre-school dancers. We also have a friendly adult class in Linedancing. If you need help creating your first dance for your Wedding reception, I can work with happy couples.
We are based in Bassingbourn and Litlington, on the border of South Cambridgeshire and North Hertfordshire, and our students come from the surrounding locality, including Royston, Melbourn, Meldreth, Orwell, Steeple and Guilden Morden.
Naomi has a particular love for working with children and young adults who have learning difficulties - do contact Naomi if you would like your child to access dance classes to find out if we can help meet your needs.
Testimonials
Teambuilding with a twist
Naomi at DanceMatters is an absolutely excellent dance teacher. She agreed to lead us into the unknown at a female only networking event. She was incrediblygood humoured, making us all laugh and feel at ease.
Dance + Kids = Fun
A really fun workshop spent with Naomi, 36 Guides and 3 Guide leaders learning to dance! The girls did a great job dancing with Naomi who made it easy and fun to learn. We would recommend that everyone has a go - it's a real laugh.
Party time!
Naomi made the party go with a swing. Her bubbliness is quite infectious and the dances were enjoyed by the adults and children alike. I would recommend you to others.
Educational workshops
There's nothing like combining language learning and leisure as found by the students at Bell School Cambridge learning to dance in English with the expert dancing teacher Naomi Wallen.
School based Dance lessons
For the last two years Naomi has run a lunchtime dance club in the playground - children of all ages come and go during the lunch break. Naomi welcomes everyone and it is lovely to see children take up this opportunity who might not be interested in other lunchtime 'sports clubs'. We really want to encourage boys to dance and Naomi makes them feel very comfortable.
Dance and Disability
Naomi has worked with our son (now 17 years old) since March 2015 coaching him in producing and presenting four dance pieces. He has an autistic spectrum condition and we have been really astonished at the level of performance that Naomi has enabled him to deliver. Naomi has a contagious sense of fun and energy We have no hesitation in recommending Naomi to any parents considering dance as a potential creative outlet for their child, or indeed any young person with the same aspiration.
